The CBI has published a survey on R&D tax credits, concluding that business confidence in the credits has grown over the past three years with 37% of companies reporting that the credit has enabled them to increase their R&D spend.
The survey does need to be taken with a small statistical pinch of salt, as the findings are based on the responses of only 62 companies – and over 6,000 claims for R&D tax credits were made in 2006-7. Nonetheless, positive press for R&D tax credits is always useful.
